The second Clubs race for the year 2012 has been successfully held at Vouliagmeni Nautical Club on the 8th & 9th of December.
In total, 30 athletes of all age groups (U17, U15, U13) have participated in the event.
All the athletes challenged their limits since the conditions during these two days were extremely rough with strong winds and big waves.
The nice setup of the race at Vouliagmeni bay offered an amazing spectacle to the parents & friends of the sport who gathered to watch the efforts of the athletes.
This was the last race for 2012. It has been a very successful season for the Bic Techno 293 class and especially for Windsurfing racing of younger age groups in Greece.
The addition of several new athletes and the increased number of races gave a new impetus and hope for the further development of the sport.

The 3rd day (last day) of Greek championship found some changes in the top 6 positions. 5 races accomplished in wind conditions between 14 to 20 knots.
Vasilis Solidakis (GRE19) with excellent and very stable performance used his knowledge of this demanding spot and stayed in the first position coming back to the throne of Greek Champion. Dimitris Vlachakis (GRE7) managed to recover and win the 2nd position with his excellent understanding of the tricky wind conditions. Who knows what could happen if he was in good shape in the first 2 days. Nikolaos Skarlatos (GRE28) did not manage to keep his title Greek champion 2011. Some damages in his equipment and lack of concentration did not allow him to recover and challenge again the title.
Tricky and shifty wind conditions were difficult to be read from the sailors sins the wind was changing in the race area from west to southwest and dropping some times to less than 7 knots. Especially race 9 found GRE 25 and GRE 2000 on mark no2 unplanned for 1 min and dropped them from 4 & 5 positions below 10 giving the opportunity to the rest of the fleet to over pass them. A grade come back of Christian Frey (GRE969) during the last day, taking advantage of the stronger winds, found him in the 4th position, and forced Kostas Tziannis (GRE1001), a good sailor in low winds, to fall in the 5th position. Nikolas Kampouropoulos (GRE2000) managed to keep the 6th position. A lot of mistakes in tactic and some damages in the equipment did not allow him to challenge a better result.
We would like to thank Luciano Treggiari (ITA6) who kept his seventh position, and we hope in the future more foreigner sailors to join our championship.
The most processing for the class of Formula was the participation of new young sailors; among others the 17 years old (ex RSX sailor) Stratis Doukas after 3 months of formula managed to take the 10th position.
Congratulation to all participants

London Olympics 2012 Sailing competition, Weymouth - RS:X class.
Dorian van Rijsselberge continued in great fashion in the Men's RS:X after another race win which was followed by a third as Nothe spectators were treated to two RS:X races.
The Dutchman recorded another comprehensive victory in the third Men's RS:X race but in Race 4 the thousands of fans watching saw Nick Dempsey (GBR) claw his way back to win the race on the line ahead of Byron Kokkalanis.
On his success so early in the regatta the upbeat and relaxed van Rijsselberge said, 'I had a beetroot juice, now this is the secret. Not everybody knows it but I love the beet.'
Van Rijsselberge read the conditions well on the Nothe Course to continue his fine form, 'It was a good day on the water. Little tricky course because the wind comes over the wall and there's a lot of geographical factors that come in. Because you can't see beyond the wall so you and estimate what's coming up.'
Dempsey moves into third place after a photo finish in the final race of the day. When it looked like Kokkalanis would take the race win the Brit stepped it up a gear and took the bullet. 'I did it for the crowd. It was all planned,' said Dempsey. 'You always give it your all until the end and it is always worth giving it a go.
'I was pretty adamant that I was going to try and pass him. Normally you can't do what I did today but it is the Olympic Games and you don't give an inch.'
Kokkalanis remains in contention and is just five points out of the medals with six races remaining whilst Przemyslaw Miarczynski (POL) maintained his steady start to the regatta and holds onto second place with a seventh and a fourth place on the water.
The Men's RS:X resume racing tomorrow at no earlier than 15:30 local time on the Portland Harbour course.

5th Place in Paros FreestyleWalk 2012 - Report
The Paros FreestyleWalk took place from the 6th till the 9th of July in Paroswindsurf Surfclub located in Pounda-Paros with 16 participants from all over Greece. We had 5.3 conditions for 2 of the 4 days of the competition and 1 Single and Double elimination was completed according to the efpt format.
That was the first ever competition for me and i was happy to see myself coping much better than expected in competition-mode windsurfing. In all the 6min heats i could land almost all my moves without problems. Most of the riders could land the regular and switch stance basic moves so landing kono and shaka in all heats and culo in some, helped me advance.
In the Single Elimination after winning my first heat i was against Stam Promponas (#15 PWA fuerte 2010) in light conditions where he managed to land a ponch that made the difference between our moves.
In the Double after winning 3 heats in a row i was against Nikos Athanasiou(Top 10 efpt 2009) sailing for the 4th position. It was a very close heat as i was landing the same moves as Nikos immediatly after he landed them. Till the end we had the same moves, shaka, sw kono, kono, funnel oh, puneta for Nik and shaka, sw kono, kono, funnel oh , double flaka for me. Before the end of the heat Nik landed a shove it spock and at the same time i was landing a clean and high culo but while flipping the sail in the end of the move the sail slipped out of my hands :((. so i finished in 5th position.
All in all i m happy that already from my first competition i could sail in this level in my heats but i also have a bitter feeling that it was in my hand to advance and go higher but i didnt...
